JOHN ABRAHAM LATEST UPDATE | LATEST UPDATE OF JOHN ABRAHAM

John Abraham make a good bad guy

In Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout at Wadala the good-looking actor will be playing a role inspired by the life of a famous gangster. Will it recreate the Dhoom magic?

Dishy dude John Abraham is back to doing a mean act. In Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout at Wadala the model-turned-actor will play a role based on Mumbai gangster Manya Surve, who came into the limelight during Dawood Ibrahim’s reign. Unlike other real-life ‘inspired’ roles, Gupta intends to make his film’s character very much like the criminal. Well, whether John’s characterisation comes close to Manya’s persona or not, wethinks this baddie role will give the much needed boast to John’s rather dull career. Remember how when the last time the good-looking actor played a bad guy in Dhoom, his luck changed drastically? Suddenly the expressionless actor found a long queue of producers waiting outside his house. It lasted for a while, but John’s steady flops (Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, Jhootha Hi Sahi) drove away those same filmmakers. He also tried to be the messiah of unconventional Hindi films (No Smoking, Aashayein), but it didn’t work for either the filmmakers or the hottie. Finally some good sense prevailed and John has gone back to doing what is best at – be arm candy in boy flicks likeDesi Boyz and Housefull 2, and now a mean badass gangster in Shootout at Wadala. Will it work? You decide…
