A happy news for kareena kapoor fans club.........Is Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ back on track? Some newspapers in Mumbai reported that Madhur had secretly apprached Kareena Kapoor for the movie that was postponed indefinitely following lead actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s pregnancy.
Kareena was the initial choice for the role but she backed out, allegedly because some scenes and situations in the movie were too close for comfort to her real life. Aishwarya then became attached to the project.
Madhur cleared the air on the latest rumours by posting on his Twitter page today, “Speculations in the media of me approaching actresses for my film HEROINE are totally baseless. Whether i will revive film HEROINE, will decide after consultations with UTV or a fresh film, will surely update u in near future !!!”
After the movie was stalled, Madhur seemed to blame Aishwarya for what happened. He said in an emotional blog post that ‘the truth was hidden from us’ about Ash’s pregancy. Ash’s pa-in-law Amitabh Bachchan defended her and hit out at Madhur and producers UTV initially, but later said that the issues between them had been resolved.
Madhur still remains sensitive on the entire ‘Heroine’ situation though. He recently confronted producer/director Vipul Shah, after the latter appeared on a news show and supported Aishwarya’s decision to keep her pregnancy to herself initially. Madhur bumped into Vipul at a multiplex in Mumbai and apparently said that he was disappointed by his stand and felt betrayed by it. Vipul, who had directed Aishwarya in ‘Action Replayy’ in 2010, confirmed the confrontation.
When it was confirmed that ‘Heroine’ had been postponed, there were rumours that Priyanka had been approached to take over the part which she denied.
