Zoya Akhtar let the cat out of the bag recently about her star’s future

If his Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara director is to be believed, Hrithik Roshan may soon follow in his father’s footsteps and helm a film. Zoya Akhtar revealed recently that Duggu was very much involved in the making of ZNMD. “Farhan and Abhay are already directors. (Abhay has directed a soon-to-be-released short film, while Farhan…well, do we have to say anything?) I won’t be surprised if Hrithik turns director too, and very soon. After all, he is a Roshan.” Surely you must have heard about how Hrithik used to assist his father in his younger days. He was the assistant director on Karan Arjun and that’s how he first became friends with Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan. Both stars have commented on how impressed they were with him during the shoots. And, of course, filmmaking runs in Hrithik’s genes. His maternal grandfather J Om Prakash and his father Rakesh Roshan are very successful directors. In fact, even the senior Roshan started his career as an actor before moving behind the camera. Then there are his childhood friends – Karan Johar, Farhan and Aditya Chopra – who are all directors. And now even his ZNMD co-star Katrina Kaif is planning to head to the other side of the camera, it seems. She even took advice from Farhan about direction, and reportedly edited a scene inDon 2. So then Hrithik, we would love it if you too, turn director, but please don’t stop acting. And dancing, of course!
