Salman Khan’s blockbuster Dabangg bagged seven awards, but did not garner him Best Actor

The 12th IIFA Awards were held in Toronto on June 25, 2011. Salman Khan’s blockbusterDabangg bagged seven awards, including Best Film, Best Debut (Female) for Sonakshi Sinha and Best Performance in a Negative Role for Sonu Sood. Shahrukh Khan took away the Best Actor trophy for My Name is Khan, while Anushka Sharma was crowned Best Actress forBand Baaja Baaraat. Ranveer Singh won the Best Debut (Male) for Band Baaja Baaraat. Ranveer and Anushka were also adjudged the Hottest Pair. Sharmila Tagore took home the Outstanding Achievement Award. Dharmendra was honoured for 50 years in cinema.
