Do you wanna be Salman-Kareena’s bodyguard?
It’s the latest marketing gimmick to promote Bodyguard. We are sure that with these two stars asking, there will be many takers, but does it really help the film?
Film marketing and promotion plans are becoming more unique with every film. The makers of Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s Bodyguard have come up with an interesting promotional concept. The film’s co-producer Atul Agnihotri reveals, “We will be traveling to around 15 cities in one week before the film’s release. Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor will be also traveling and promoting the film. And in every city we will select one local person to be their ‘personal bodyguard’ for the day.” We don’t know about providing protection to the stars, but it is a golden chance for fans to get close to their idols. There was a time when Bollywood stars never stepped out of their glass houses to talk about their films. But now our actors are willing to go any lengths to promote their films. Remember when Aamir Khan shaved people’s heads during the release of Ghajini? And when Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and the remaining cast of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara set out for a road trip across the country? And recently, the cast and director of Aarakshan went around town conducting seminars and lecturers at educational institutes? Well, these gimmicks may or may not help the film’s box office collections, but one thing is for sure – today the actors have to be multi-talented. And learn how to multi-task. As for acting…that is a far more tough lesson to learn!
