The Tanu Weds Manu gal refuses to shimmy in Housefull 2. And boy, are we glad!
Kareena Kapoor has done it. So have Deepika Padukone, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra. But Kangna Ranaut has firmly stated that she will not do an item number in any film. Why? ‘Cause she thinks her fans will not appreciate it! And that’s why, she says, she refused to do an item number in Housefull - and again in Housefull 2. We love Kangs, we love her acting, we love her fashion, we love her hair, we will even love her accent once we get used to it, but her dancing is definitely not something that makes us happy.
So we are very we glad that she prefers not to do any. Why, you may ask. Frankly, Kangna is not…er…a Madhuri Dixit or even an Aishwarya when it comes to dancing. Just watch the Shakira song inNo Problem again, or even the Oye song in Double Dhamaal. Both Sushmita Sen and Mallika Sherawat have her beat. Kangna had improved in Tanu Weds Manu, but just a li’l bit. Then again, we love her for her histrionics, for the innocence that shines through the gloss inFashion and Once Upon a Time In Mumbaai. So oomphing her way through a dance may not be her thing. We don’t mind, do you?
