At times some films are considered to not to be good before their release. But how their destiny changes with the love that their audience gives to them is evident from recent release at box office. Pyaar ka Punchnama might have got a slow opening at box office, but gradually the film picked up and did so well that enjoying its success, its sequel is also announced by its makers.
Luv Ranjan, the man behind the success of the film, confirms, “Yes, the film has grown with word of mouth and now obviously there is a demand from the market to get the sequel on floor. I don’t want to rush into bringing the film on floors though. For PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA I spent quite some time writing it and making myself very sure before approaching the producers.”
Despite of its not –so- good –opening, the film gradually made its place in hearts of audience and today it reports to have a net collection of 8 crores across the nation. Though, new releases are hitting theaters each weekend, but the charisma of this movie is still the same. The sequel of this comedy film will be going to flashier than the original and go on floors in 2012.
“We wanted to test waters before making any announcements all of 24 years of age and perhaps the youngest producer in recent times to taste success so early in his career. There are so many ways in which this franchise can be taken forward. Wait for the sequel; we would be breaking quite a few trends there as well,” says Abhishek Pathak.
Wait till next year and see another comedy saga.
